Last call for the
7th International Week of ESEC – Theme: Sustainable world
19th April – 23th April 2010, ESEC, Coimbra
This is the last call for the 7th IWE. Just like the previous international weeks, this event aims to bring together academics, researchers, teachers, trainers, students, institutions, organisations, associations, enterprises, social partners and other representatives in order to share knowledge and experience on the assigned theme: “Sustainable Worldâ€, as well as to provide an opportunity to reflect and debate on a common interest. The theme encourages the development of an attitude of social and personal awareness about the problem of sustainability at all levels, going from biodiversity to the combat on poverty and social exclusion.
The 7th IWE welcomes any contributions with a multidisciplinary perspective, from applied areas, such as teacher training, sports and leisure, social education, communication and media studies, tourism, visual arts and fine arts. Contributions related and sustained in the following thematics (particularly in domains such as sustainability, biodiversity, education, culture, tourism, art, communication, enterprise, cohesion, rural and urban development and the information society) are especially welcome:
2010 International Year of Biodiversity;
2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and social Exclusion;
2005-2010 – United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development;
2001-2010 – Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (2001-2010);
2001-2010 – International Decade for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World;
2005-2015 – International Decade for Action, “Water for Lifeâ€.
Accepted papers are to be published in the proceedings book. Contributions should have one of the following formats: Academic paper (30 minutes); Lecture (1-2 hours); Seminar/colloquium sessions (90 min-2 hours); workshop (1-4 hours).
